Junior Cricket at OE's
Old Elizabethans has one of the strongest junior memberships in Worcestershire. Our regular Friday night practices throughout the summer are a fantastic fun time for the whole family.
We pride ourselves on offering coaching to children of all ages, and run teams from Under 9 through to Under 17. We also have a thriving Kwik Cricket section which provides an introduction to cricket for younger children.
Friday nights are well supported, and it would be right to say that it is one of THE most important days in the club week. Parents are encouraged to come and enjoy the atmosphere now legendary on OEs Junior Night. The bar is open and we also provide food from our volunteer kitchen.
On the playing side we offer a packed programme of cricket througout the age groups and have teams involved in around a hundred fixtures during the course of the season. All our teams have dedicated mangers and coaches, once again all willing volunteers on which the club depends for its success. In saying that, the club is very strong in terms of actual structured team cricket. In 2007 four of our age groups were crowned County Champions, as well as being runners-up in other sections and competitions. Without doubt OE's junior acchievements in 2007 followed the senior cricket's success, making it the most successful in the club's 72 year history.
The junior section is masterminded by our Chief Coordinator Pete Boyle. Pete gives many hundreds of hours of his time to the juniors section and helps oversee the many coaches, managers and volunteers the club is fortunate to have.
